EDITO at the EurOCEAN

Vigo, Galicia, Spain

EDITO will participate in Session 4: Ensuring Ocean knowledge in the Age of the Digital Ocean Digital Twins of the Ocean (DTO) have the potential to be digital, high-resolution, multi-dimensional and near real-time representations of the global ocean to inform sustainable measures that ensure the preservation of marine environments. Current efforts focus on building on existing assets on data infrastructures and ocean services such as Copernicus and EMODnet, but the success of DTO is based on the need to be fed by continuous observations from the ocean. How can this continued marine data acquisition from ocean observations be ensured to allow us to benefit from Digital Twins of the Ocean?
